Privacy Policy — Swift Currency

Plain-language summary: Swift Currency keeps your data on your own phone. There are no accounts, no ads, and no third-party analytics tracking you. We don’t sell your data.

What we collect and why

We do not require an account and we do not collect personal information on our servers.

The app stores the following only on your device (it never leaves your phone unless you choose to export or share it):

  • Your conversion history, saved exchange shops, favorite currencies, and settings.
  • Your premium/unlock status.

Some features connect to the internet to function:

  • Exchange rates are fetched from public exchange-rate providers — primarily FreeExchangeRateApi (exchangerate.fun), with Fawaz Ahmed’s open currency-api (served via the jsDelivr CDN) as a fallback. Only a base currency code is requested — no personal data is sent.
  • Maps for saving exchange-shop locations are provided by Google Maps. Your use of the map is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
  • Location (only if you grant permission) is used to mark the spot when you save an exchange shop on the map. Your location is stored on your device and is not transmitted to us.
  • Coupon codes, when you redeem one, are sent to our server (boldlinedesigns.com) to verify validity and usage limits. A coupon code is not personal information.
  • Update checks request a small version file from our server and the app-update service (Expo) to tell you when a new version is available.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell or rent your data.
  • We do not show third-party advertising.
  • We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not build a profile of you.

Permissions

  • Location — optional. Used solely to tag exchange-shop locations you choose to save. You can deny it and still use the rest of the app; you can change it anytime in your phone’s Settings.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data lives on your device, uninstalling the app deletes it. You can also clear saved data from within the app’s Settings.

Children

Swift Currency is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
